Actors Studio Stockholm offers a wide range of inspiring courses in acting, film, and improvisation, both for beginners and for those at a professional level.

At Actors Studio Stockholm, our goal is to share knowledge and techniques in acting—whether you’re interested in theater, film, or improvisation. Our teachers have extensive experience in the industry and are dedicated to sharing their insights with you. Acting is not just about being on stage; it also offers valuable personal development. You don’t need to aspire to become an actor to take a course with us; maybe there are other situations in your personal or professional life where you’d like to feel more confident and self-assured!

Character Breakdown

Course Description – In this course we will explore how to understand your character on a deep level and bring the given character to life through the given circumstances from the script which will further serve as the foundation for our choices that we apply to the character.

Business Side of Acting

Course Description – In this course we will deep dive into how the film industry works today and how to prepare yourself before filming and while on set. We will go through the differences between agents and managers and how to work with casting directors. In this course we will acquire an understanding of the differences between working in Sweden vs. internationally as an actor.

Script Analysis

Course Description – In the script analysis course we will learn how to break down the script in order to fundamentally understand the world we live in as the character. We will learn what to look for in the script to further help our understanding of what can serve us to make great choices and connect to the world of the script.

Scene Study

Course Description – Within this course you will be handed a monologue from an American or Swedish playwright and continuously work on your monologue and perform it in class using the techniques we go through. We will film your monologue at the end of the course so that you can use it as a showreel.

Advanced Scene Study

Course Description – Within the course you and your scene partner will receive a scene from a contemporary play and work on the scene together, using various techniques we go through and then perform it in class. We will perform the scenes at the end of the term in front of an audience.

Teachers for Evening Courses

JD Glickman

JD Glickman is a celebrated theater teacher with extensive experience in teaching and developing educational programs at schools and theaters worldwide. He holds a B.F.A. from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he trained at the Circle-in-the-Square Theater Conservatory and The Michael Chekhov Studio.

Additionally, Glickman has taught hundreds of actors in the Michael Chekhov method at institutions such as COCA (St. Louis, MO), The Actors Gym (Los Angeles, Chicago, St. Louis, Milan, Paris, and Stockholm), as well as at the Stockholm University of the Arts, Kulturama, and Calle Flygare Theatre School.


Jean Kartal

Jean is an award-winning actor who has worked with Oscar-winning directors such as Christopher McQuarrie (“The Usual Suspects,” “Mission: Impossible”) in Mission: Impossible 7, Dead Reckoning. He starred in Jesus in Abigail and won the Best Actor award for his portrayal of Charles in Silent Love Stories at the Global Film Festival Awards.

Jean has been based in Los Angeles and Stockholm for the past ten years, where he graduated from the Stella Adler Academy of Theatre. He works closely with his mentor, Oscar-winning director Milton Justice.
