2
Admission Test 1

Admission Test 1 requires you to record a video in which you perform a monologue and submit it to us. Carefully read all the instructions on how to proceed. It is acceptable to record with a mobile phone camera. Choose ONE of the monologues below. Additionally, you may also choose your own two-minute monologue and record it in either Swedish or English.

Instructions for the Recorded Monologue

  • Memorize the text by heart.
  • Do not modify, cut, or add to the text.
  • You must not have any co-actors, meaning no other person should appear in the video.
  • You do not need to consider the gender for which the role was originally written. Your monologue must be no longer than 2 minutes.
  • Record the video as if you were standing in front of an audience. Ensure you are clearly visible and audible. It should be a theatrical rather than a film-style performance. You may look directly into the camera.
  • The video must be one continuous take in its entirety. It should not be cut, edited, zoomed, or contain any special effects.
  • The camera must remain completely still and should capture you straight on.
  • Make sure you are clearly visible and audible in the video.

Admission Test 2

MOVEMENT

Admission Test 2 requires you to record a video which you work with the body and its expression. You should make a coherent movement sequence using abstract forms that can in principle look any way, but which has a clear story with a beginning, middle and end and which incorporates the entire body. DO NOT ACT OUT A SCENE OF YOU DOING SOMETHING OBVIOUS – for example, getting dressed, exercising, brushing your teath etc etc.  Again, ABSTRACT in nature – it can be a choreography or different movements that follow each other. Please record the whole body in the picture with the sequence being a maximum of 30 seconds.  Please do not use voice or music.

Step 1: Upload each of your recorded monologues to YouTube and set it as unlisted. The unlisted privacy setting means that only you and those you choose to share the link with can view the video. Others will not be able to find the video, either on YouTube or through search engines. Feel free to watch this instructional video on how to upload and set your video as unlisted on YouTube: https://youtu.be/JOr7JluzEOM.

Step 2: Name your video using your first and last name along with the title of the monologue.

Step 3: Attach Your YouTube Link to Your Application
Copy your YouTube link into a Word document and specify which script you used. Also, include your name in the document so we know who the video belongs to.  Email the Word document with your name, monologue title and YouTune Link to info@actorsstudiostockholm.com

4
Admissions Final Callback

Applicants who pass Admission Tests 1 and 2 will be invited to a final selection round. This will include a personal interview and may also involve exercises in acting, movement, speech, improvisation, as well as work on your audition monologue and/or movement piece.
